The hand held locator could be a key fob having buttons to command operation to the vehicle. When a command signal is transmitted to the vehicle, the vehicle then transmits its position location to the hand held location for storage. In this way, an operator will be able to have an indication of the location of the vehicle. The vehicle can communicate with GPS satellites to determine its location, or may communicate with ground based local transmitters. The ground based local transmitters can be programmed to provide an indication of the location of the vehicle within a parking lot.Field of SearchVehicle diagnosis or maintenance indicationIncluding route searching or determining device Automatic route guidance vehicle Storage or planning of route information NAVIGATION Employing position determining equipment For use in a map data base system Using Global Positioning System (GPS) Having traffic control Land vehicle location (e.g., bus, police car Position indicating (e.g., triangulation) Tracking or monitoring (i.e., lost or stolen vehicles) Using Global Positioning Satellite (GPS or Glonass) Rudder position indicator At remote location Holdup Fail-safe VEHICLE POSITION INDICATION With map display Position indication transmitted by local station to remote location Telescoping Flexible rod actuated With radio cabinet Emergency dispatch or response Transmission power control technique Auto-dialing or repertory dialing (e.g., using bar code, etc.) Having display Particular frequency conversion structure or circuitry Remote control of receiver Band pass filter | |
