International ClassB60P 007/14AbstractA skate for conveying components into a monocoque locomotive. Portions of a monocoque locomotive platform are not accessible through a roof hatch. To move a component onto such portions of the platform, a skate assembly having an integral clamp assembly is attached to a leg portion of the component, the component is lifted onto the platform through a roof hatch, and the component is rolled on the skate rollers to the desired position on the platform. A jacking device integral to the skate assembly is then used to lift the component for removal of the rollers and for holding the component at a desired height for attachment to the locomotive.Field of SearchBody with bracketed-type or nonsuspended axles (e.g., platform type)Vertically elongated rectangular object support body Vertically adjustable wheels With nonwheel means for engaging the supporting surface Tiltable vehicles, stabilized by attendant or article With leg supports Linear motion hook release Selectively rigid or flexible Seat supported by ski pole Convertible WHEELED Skids With nonwheel means for engaging the supporting surface Screw-jack type APPARATUS FOR MOVING MATERIAL TO A POSITION IN THE ERECTION OR REPAIR OF A BUILDING Flat wall or ceiling member manipulating means Freight LOAD BRACING MEANS Panel or frame, wall-to-wall Panel movable to out-of-way position | |
