The process entails providing a flat-shaped article which is formed of a material capable of being deep-drawn. The flat-shaped article is stamped to provide indentations which correspond to the chamfer in the finished product. The flat-shaped article is then punched out to form a preform. The preform is then deep drawn, converting the preform into the shape of the ring.
