AbstractAn improved self-wound roll of a pressure sensitive adhesive coated laminate comprising a substrate which becomes dimensionally-unstable under normal processing conditions, e.g., printing, at least one layer comprising a continuous film of a normally dimensionally stable polymer adhesively fixed to one or both sides of the substrate thereby stabilizing it during processing, a transparent flexible release layer of a resin on the outwardly facing surface of the laminate, and a layer of a modified pressure sensitive adhesive on the inwardly facing surface of the substrate. The laminate can be processed without distortion, wound into rolls, unwound and applied to a surface to be decorated without delamination or shrinkage and without distortion of printed indicia, and it ultimately can be stripped without damage to the surface. | InventorAssigneeApplicationNo. 242297 filed on 05/13/1994US Classes:428/352, With release or antistick coating428/354, Three or more layers428/906ROLL OR COILField of Search428/354, Three or more layers428/352, With release or antistick coating428/480, Of polyester (e.g., alkyd, etc.)428/906ROLL OR COILExaminersPrimary: Davis, JennaAttorney, Agent or FirmUS Patent ReferencesRe32929, 2432376, 3796678, 3905929, 3988278, Stable polymer latex and process for making sameIssued on: 10/26/1976 Inventor: Bartizal4151319, Method for making a pressure sensitive adhesive coated laminate Issued on: 04/24/1979 Inventor: Sackoff , et al.4346189, Agent for forming cleaner cutting pressure sensitive adhesives Issued on: 08/24/1982 Inventor: Laurent5043381Aqueous dispersions of a nonionic, water dispersible polyurethane having pendent polyoxyethylene chains Issued on: 08/27/1991 Inventor: Coogan, et al.
