AbstractMovable louvered window shutters embody a construction and a process for their fabrication that results in a shutter having a high quality, functionally and aesthetically. The shutters use a hardware arrangement including two types of louver pins, a compression spring and a tensioning mechanism to adjust the frictional drag on the shutters. The hardware facilitates a procedure in which the frame and louvers of the shutter are fabricated and finished separately and then assembled. The same kit of hardware can be used to make virtually any size window shutter having movable louvers. The tensioning mechanism includes a threaded insert that enables adjustment of the frictional drag on the louvers without causing deterioration or damage to the shutter frame. | InventorsAssigneeApplicationNo. 067204 filed on 04/28/1998US Classes:49/403, Louver end caps; e.g., mounting clips49/74.1Louver-type closures (e.g., slats or panels)Field of Search49/74.1, Louver-type closures (e.g., slats or panels)49/403, Louver end caps; e.g., mounting clips49/92.1Specific louver structureExaminersPrimary: Redman, JerryUS Patent References118454, 125887, 165812, 188908, 207026, 213343, 229226, 345689, 360058, 368808, 390392, 472592, 702148, 709239, 3129471, 3153819, 3292309, 3584567, 3691687, 3759054, 3759056, 4033073, Shutter, grille or the likeIssued on: 07/05/1977 Inventor: Bogan4327795, Window casement Issued on: 05/04/1982 Inventor: Wheeler4327796, Shutter assembly Issued on: 05/04/1982 Inventor: Rochman4480674, Magnetic actuating mechanism for pivotal venetian blind assembly Issued on: 11/06/1984 Inventor: Anderson4577619, Energy efficient window and skylight assemblies Issued on: 03/25/1986 Inventor: Howe, Jr.4709506, Swivel shutter assembly Issued on: 12/01/1987 Inventor: Lukaszonas4723586, Venetian blind Issued on: 02/09/1988 Inventor: Spangenberg4792427, Method for making light-transmitting slats for blind Issued on: 12/20/1988 Inventor: Reeves4887391, Window shutter assembly and method of production Issued on: 12/19/1989 Inventor: 4936048, Swivel shutter assembly Issued on: 06/26/1990 Inventor: Ruggles5035046, Device for assembling louver windows and doors Issued on: 07/30/1991 Inventor: Cowing5168913, Vertical blind assembly Issued on: 12/08/1992 Inventor: Haines5178200, Venetian-or pleated blinds, particularly for multiple pane insulating glass window Issued on: 01/12/1993 Inventor: Hagen5187896, Pivot rod connector for moveable shutters Issued on: 02/23/1993 Inventor: Ross5216837, Enclosed louver mechanism Issued on: 06/08/1993 Inventor: Cleaver, et al.5238042, Window blind system Issued on: 08/24/1993 Inventor: Guerrico-Echeverria5275219, Environmentally interactive automatic closing system for blinds and other louvered window coverings Issued on: 01/04/1994 Inventor: Giacomel5303507, Adjustable shutters and slats therefor Issued on: 04/19/1994 Inventor: Oille5339591, Shutter with pin-mounted stationary louvers Issued on: 08/23/1994 Inventor: Underdahl5347756, Pivotal and adjustable closure vertical rail louver system Issued on: 09/20/1994 Inventor: Abbott, et al.5599051Securing device for window shutters Issued on: 02/04/1997 Inventor: Bourgeois International ClassE06B 007/08 |
