Compounds of formula ICn F2n+1 --(CH2)m --Si(R1 R2 R3)(I)in whichR1 is alkoxy having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or isCn F2n+1 --(CH2)m --Si(R2 R3)--O--,R2 and R3 are alkyl or alkoxy having 1 to 3 carbon atoms,n is 1 to 12; andm is 1 to 6,are applied to the substrates by thermal vapor coating in a high vacuum.
