In a first embodiment of the present invention, the data transmission between the credit card authorization terminal and the receipt printer is monitored for the occurrence of a search data string containing the name of the retail establishment. Once located, the search data string is edited from the data transmission and a replacement data string is inserted. The replacement data string contains control and/or data words which cause the graphical logo of the retail establishment to be printed on the credit card receipt. In a second embodiment, the credit card authorization terminal is programmed to transmit the graphical command and/or data words directly to the receipt printer.Field of SearchCredit or identification card systemsWith vending Mechanized store Including point of sale terminal or electronic cash register Having interface for record bearing medium or carrier for electronic funds transfer or payment credit Having security or user identification provision (password entry, etc.) Tax processing Price look-up processing (e.g., updating) Interconnection or interaction of plural electronic cash registers (ECRs) or to host computer (e.g., network detail, transfer of information from host to ECR or from ECR to ECR, etc.) Inventory monitoring Input by product or record sensing (weighing, scanner processing) Specified transaction journal output feature (e.g., printed receipt, voice output, etc.) Including Automatic Teller Machine (i.e., ATM) Requiring authorization or authentication | |
