AbstractA mechanical projectile launcher utilizes novel cocking, advancement and indexing mechanisms for sequentially launching projectiles from a plurality of barrels. A linearly traveling handle is employed in the operations of both a firing mechanism and an advancement mechanism. A novel indexing mechanism utilizes a series of drive surfaces and alignment channels on a rotary element to allow a single advancement drive member, such as a pawl, to induce precise sequential alignment between a plurality of launching barrels and a firing mechanism, without the need for additional indexing members. | InventorApplicationNo. 657825 filed on 06/03/1996US Classes:124/66, By spring-driven plunger124/59Having common supply to plural projector barrelsField of Search124/45, Magazine124/48, Rotary124/56, FLUID PRESSURE124/59, Having common supply to plural projector barrels124/63, Provided by movement of user-actuated, projector-mounted pressure member124/64, To create surge of pressure124/65, By plunger moving within cylinder124/66, By spring-driven plunger124/67Within cylinder having diameter larger than projector barrelExaminersPrimary: Ricci, John A.Attorney, Agent or FirmUS Patent References399882, 1259463, 1478597, 2237678, 3009453, 3111121, 3205883, 3540426, 3818887, 3913553, 4004565, Clip for supplying implant projectilesIssued on: 01/25/1977 Inventor: Fischer , et al.4004566, Clip and indexing mechanism for a gas-operated gun Issued on: 01/25/1977 Inventor: Fischer4289109, Toy air pistol with hollow breech slide Issued on: 09/15/1981 Inventor: D'Andrade4411249, Toy glider with pneumatic launcher Issued on: 10/25/1983 Inventor: Fogarty , et al.4422433, Projectile loader and detent assembly for guns Issued on: 12/27/1983 Inventor: Milliman4732136, Toy-arm imitating a fire-arm Issued on: 03/22/1988 Inventor: Ferri4841655, Toy firearm for firing projectiles by compressed air, with the piston of the cylinder-piston system attached to the hammer of the firearm Issued on: 06/27/1989 Inventor: Ferri4843751, Toy firearm operated by compressed air, with magazine in an element in the guise of a trigger Issued on: 07/04/1989 Inventor: Ferri4848307, Toy air pistol for launching missile bullet Issued on: 07/18/1989 Inventor: Tsao4986251, Airgun magazine Issued on: 01/22/1991 Inventor: Lilley5186156, Air operated toy gun Issued on: 02/16/1993 Inventor: Clayton5224464, Toy archery set Issued on: 07/06/1993 Inventor: Burnham, et al. 5522374 International ClassF41B 011/14 |
