Abstract

A method and system for regulating power delivered to specific appliances or loads which represent but a proportion of the power consumed by different commercial or residential users and in which each appliance or load has variable demands for power consumption, the method and system of the present invention being characterized by measuring the natural run time or average demand of an electrical appliance over a selected real time interval and reducing the run time or average demand of the appliance by an amount directly related to the run-time measurement or average demand measurement of each appliance during periods of peak demand.
