AbstractA multi-exercise free weight exercise apparatus which simulates free weight barbell exercise motions while preventing injury to a weightlifter. The weightlifting apparatus is comprised of a weight bar which rides on horizontal and vertical guide tracks and contains a safety catch mechanism device which latches onto pins located on upright brace supports should the weightlifter be unable to complete an exercise. The apparatus will allow a lifter to perform sophisticated exercises such as squatlifts, bench presses, deadlifts, and military presses in a natural free weight exercise motion while having the safety features of a non-free weight machine. | InventorsApplicationNo. 590270 filed on 11/21/1995US Classes:482/94, Including stationary support for weight482/98, Having guide around or through weight482/101Track or way guided user interface elementField of Search182/94, Wall penetrating operating means182/98, Normally counterbalanced to inoperative position182/101, LADDER WITH VERTICALLY MOVING PLATFORM OR ESCAPE182/104, PIVOTALLY CONNECTED LADDERS, MUTUALLY SUSTAINING182/135, With diverse holding means for occupant182/148Operating means on platformExaminersPrimary: Apley, Richard J.Assistant: Mulcahy, John Attorney, Agent or FirmUS Patent ReferencesD303697, D305256, 3235255, 4602785, Barbell exerciser with rest bracketsIssued on: 07/29/1986 Inventor: Rockwell4615524, Adjustable barbell exercise rack Issued on: 10/07/1986 Inventor: Sutherland4795149, Lunge training machine for body builders Issued on: 01/03/1989 Inventor: Pearson4799672, Powerlift competition safety device Issued on: 01/24/1989 Inventor: Barrett4836535, Upper body building machine Issued on: 06/06/1989 Inventor: Pearson4934693, Multi-exercise free weight apparatus Issued on: 06/19/1990 Inventor: Santoro4982957, Alignment apparatus for use in freeweight barbell systems Issued on: 01/08/1991 Inventor: Shields5050868, Leg training machine for body builders Issued on: 09/24/1991 Inventor: Pearson5151072, Free weight barbell spotting and racking machine Issued on: 09/29/1992 Inventor: Cone, et al.5184992, Multi-station physical exercise apparatus Issued on: 02/09/1993 Inventor: Banks5215510, Dual-guided exercise apparatus Issued on: 06/01/1993 Inventor: Baran5273506Self spotting exercise apparatus Issued on: 12/28/1993 Inventor: Dawson, Jr. International ClassA63B 021/078 |
