Abstract

The present invention provides aqueous low (70 weight percent or less) VOC hair styling compositions.More particularly, the present invention provides a low VOC hair styling composition containing at least one acrylic hair fixative resin and one or more plasticizing compounds selected from polycarboxylic acid esters and dimethiconecopolyols.The present invention also provides a low beading, low VOC hair styling composition comprising at least one surface tension reducing compound, at least one acrylic hair fixative resin, and at least one simethicone.The present invention also provides an aqueous hair resin composition which inhibits microbial growth. The aqueous hair resin composition contains at least one acrylic hair fixative resin and iodopropynylbutylcarbamate.
