Abstract

A fine solid particle aqueous dispersion comprises dispersed particles of a substantially water insoluble nonpolymeric organic compound useful in imaging and a polymeric dispersant having an HLB number of at least 8. The dispersion can be prepared by(a) forming a coarse aqueous slurry of solid particles of said compound and a polymeric dispersant having an HLB number of at least 8; and(b) milling said slurry for a period of time sufficient to provide particles of the desired particle size of less than 0.5 micron.
