The kind of first language (source language) which is supplied and the kind of second language (target language) which is generated are independently designated. Information in the source language is supplied. The supplied information in the source language is translated into information in the target language. The information in the target language as a result of the translation is displayed on the display screen. The displayed information in the target language is designated. The designated information in the target language is again translated into information in the source language. When a plurality of information in the target languages as a result of the translation exist, all of them are displayed.
