This invention utilizes the information generated by a computer-aided design (CAD) program as input to the optimization algorithm. This information is first used to check a historical data base for systems that have been previously optimized. If a duplicate is found, the process is stopped. If the historical data base does not have a duplicate the next step is to optimize the proposed piping system. The method uses an algorithm which can be applied to a many-terminal piping system as encountered in petroleum and chemical plant environments.Other References
