AbstractA pulper for the disintegration of cellulose pulp is disclosed in which a vessel containing bales of waste paper or pulp is of a spiral shape with a flat bottom, and a rotor is located in the center of the spiral. Impurities and foreign bodies are driven towards an Archimedes screw located at the outlet from the spiral, which removes them to the exterior. In this final pass this is washed by spray nozzles to recover the carried-over pulp.
