Abstract

A polyester film having on at least one side, a primer layer comprising a crosslinked product between (a) a polyurethane having (0.22-33)×10-4 gram equivalent/gram of resin, of at least one functional group selected from a carboxyl group and a salt group derived therefrom and (b) a polyepoxy compound, said crosslinked product containing (c) an antistatic agent composed mainly of a compound represented by the following general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkyl group of 4-20 carbon atoms, and M1 and M2 each represent an alkali metal ion, an ammonium group or a tertiary amino group, as well as a process for producing said film. The film is useful as a base material for highly processed polyester film products such as magnetic tape, floppy disc, X-ray photographic film, telephone card, OHP, base for printing plate and the like.
