Formulations for stabilizing fibroblast growth factor
Patent 5217954 Issued on June 8, 1993. Estimated Expiration Date: June 8, 2010. Estimated Expiration Date is calculated based on simple USPTO term provisions. It does not account for terminal disclaimers, term adjustments, failure to pay maintenance fees, or other factors which might affect the term of a patent.
514/12, 25 or more peptide repeating units in known peptide chain structure514/21, Produced by or extracted from animal tissue514/970, CONTAINING DESIGNATED INGREDIENT TO STABILIZE AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT530/399Hormones, e.g., prolactin, thymosin, growth factors, etc.
Pharmaceutical formulations and a method for their preparation are provided. These formulations provide a stabilized basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) which is less susceptible to oxidation or metal-induced aggregation by including an amount of a chelating agent effective to stabilize the bFGF.
