Abstract

Bone-like, bioactive hydroxyapatite films are formed on any substrates of inorganic, metallic or organic material, by soaking a glass mainly comprising CaO and SiO2 and a substrate arranged in a face-to-face relation, a predetermined distance apart, in an aqueous solution substantially saturated or supersaturated with constituent ions of hydroxyapatite.
