Method for diagnosing, monitoring and treating hypertension
Patent 5054493 Issued on October 8, 1991. Estimated Expiration Date: February 5, 2011. Estimated Expiration Date is calculated based on simple USPTO term provisions. It does not account for terminal disclaimers, term adjustments, failure to pay maintenance fees, or other factors which might affect the term of a patent.
A method for diagnosing, monitoring and treating hypertension uses the parameter C2 of the modified Windkessel model as an indication of the hypertensive disease condition. Apparatus for determining the parameter C2 (i.e. distal vascular compliance) of the modified Windkessel model includes means for obtaining a pressure pulse contour and a cardiac output value and for determining the model parameters.
