The engagement assembly engages the casing with the lower body so that the casing is rotated with the lower body. An auger having a hollow interior can be provided at the lower end of the casing. The casing and auger can be removed through the top of the apparatus and a conventional drill string and drill bit can be passed therethrough.Field of SearchBORING A SUBMERGED FORMATIONBoring with underwater tool drive prime mover Boring from floating support with submerged independent anchored guide base Boring from submerged buoyant support Boring from nonbuoyant support Boring with submersible vertically movable guide With helical conveyer Bit with leading cutter forming smaller diameter initial bore Leading fixed cutter Bit with leading portion (e.g., pilot) forming smaller diameter initial bore Leading portion is a screw | |
