"To place a man in a multi-stage rocket and project him into the controlling gravitational field of the moon where the passengers can make scientific observations, perhaps land alive, and then return to earth--all that constitutes a wild dream worthy of Jules Verne. I am bold enough to say that such a man-made voyage will never occur regardless of all future advances."

AbstractA magnetic head is mounted on a camera film platen which is supported for constrained movement relative to the camera body to maintain a precise relationship between an information track recorded on the film and a film edge. The magnetic head is pivotally mounted on the film platen. Means are provided to establish one angular orientation of the head to establish one angular orientation of the head with respect to the film during prewind to read information recorded by the film manufacturer and a second different angular orientation during transport of the film in the opposite direction during film exposure to record information relating to film exposure. This enables a camera to distinguish between information recorded by the manufacturer and information recorded by a camera to determine if mid-roll interrupt occurred and, if so, the location of the last frame exposed. | InventorsApplicationNo. 549257 filed on 07/03/1990US Classes:396/210, EXPOSURE DATA FROM FILM ITSELF352/92, WITH FILM CARRIED CONTROL SIGNALS352/172, Film footage360/1, RECORDING ON OR REPRODUCING FROM AN ELEMENT OF DIVERSE UTILITY396/319Magnetically on film or film cassetteField of Search352/92, WITH FILM CARRIED CONTROL SIGNALS352/172, Film footage360/3Motion picture filmExaminersPrimary: Brown, Brian W.Attorney, Agent or FirmUS Patent References4270853, Sound-recording instant-printing film and camera thereforIssued on: 06/02/1981 Inventor: Hatada , et al.4270854, Photographic instant camera with magnetic recording capability Issued on: 06/02/1981 Inventor: Stemme , et al.4375071, Mounting means for magnetic read head Issued on: 02/22/1983 Inventor: 4613911, Photographic film with magnetic recording track and method of recording on the track and reproduction from the same Issued on: 09/23/1986 Inventor: Ohta4642717, Mechanism for lifting and lowering magnetic head in magnetic recording and reproducing device Issued on: 02/10/1987 Inventor: Matsuda , et al.4843414, Image recording method and apparatus Issued on: 06/27/1989 Inventor: Yoshino4864445Head loading mechanism for recording and/or reproducing apparatus Issued on: 09/05/1989 Inventor: Tezuka International ClassB03B 007/00 |
