The tray can be formed by vacuum thermal forming, in which case it is used in combination with a platform insert formed by a pair of beams which are received within the tray and which support transverse rails thereby forming an upper platform. Alternatively, the tray can be rotationally molded and the raised platform can be molded into the tray in the form of a plurality of upstanding plugs. In either embodiment, the upper planar surface of the raised platform is positioned above the level of the upper edges of the side walls of the tray whereby a conventional forklift can deposit loads of containers mounted on standard wooden pallets onto the raised platform of the tray, and remove those pallets, when desired.Field of SearchFREIGHT CONTAINERSWITH PALLET FEATURE Specified multiple handling aperture pairs Binder wrap for content Specified handling aperture Specified pallet legs Knockdown or collapsible type DIFFERENT RECEPTACLES WITH MEANS FOR STACKING DIFFERENT RECEPTACLES WITH STRUCTURAL FEATURES FOR NESTING Noncircular receptacles (e.g., trays) Defined means at closed end of receptacle With load-confining means Stacking Nesting Tiering Support surface having article-engaging projection or recess Means for receiving load holddown means Knockdown or setup Support element attachable to or separable from support surface | |
