The actuator has a cup-shaped member of cast steel, the bottom of which is acted upon by the pressure-fluid, and a cylindrical core of a mechanically resistant and heat insulating material removably coaxially and having an end face pressed against the brake shoe when actuated. A plurality of thin discs of mechanically resistant material are secured to the end face of the core adjacent to the brake shoe for reducing heat transfer from the brake shoe to the piston. | |
