A seat frame is connected pivotally to the front of a support frame for swinging motion about the pivotal connection. The swinging motion of the seat frame is converted into the translation thereof by means of a link mechanism, and thus a cushioning member such as a coil spring incorporated in the support frame is compressed by the translation of the seat frame. Accordingly, even when the seat portion is made to swing by a large degree, the front of the seat portion is not greatly shifted in height, thereby enabling the user to sit in the chair comfortably. | |
