Abstract

Signal processing apparatus particularly useful in electrocardiograph equipment comprises a conventional ECG amplifier channel, a high-gain ECG amplifier channel, signal averaging means, and a control panel enabling the manual selection, for inputting into the signal averaging means and outputting to the electrocardiograph, either the ECG signals from the conventional amplifier or those from the high-gain amplifier. The high-gain amplifier further includes a passive filter for removing the low-frequency components. According to another feature, the signal averaging means inlcudes a digital microcomputer providing time-base expansion; and according to a still further feature, the apparatus includes a further amplifier producing trigger pulses to the signal averaging means for triggering same, thereby enabling an optimum electrode configuration to be selected producing optimum triggering.
