An inclined grate is secured within the chamber to extend angularly upwardly from the bottom peripheral edge of the transverse opening so as to extend across the chamber and the top port. Preferably, the grid includes a plurality of spaced, parallel plates which permit water to fall therebetween while diverting large particulate along the grid to direct it out of the housing through the transverse opening .Field of SearchFixed strainerGrated inlet surface drain Flat grating at surface level Plural outlets from filter casing Axially aligned inlet and outlet Prefilt flow distributor or diverter Supported, shaped or superimposed formed mediums Perforated or grooved plates Laterally removable Pipe or plate attached type | |
