The polymer precursor is mixed with a dye or pigment and shaped into a self-supporting thin article or applied to a substrate. The coating or article is then polymerized under plasma conditions created by an applied electrical field. Subsequent heat treatment further cures the polymer and makes the coating adherent to the substrate. | |
