AbstractA self-containing accessory providing illuminated decoration of a cake or like, comprising, in certain preferred versions, an externally applied decorative cover of eye-defining light-transmissive portions and including a module, secured to the underside of said cover, to provide flashing illumination by means of an electric light source, battery, and interconnecting circuitry contained therein; the module being positioned such as to locate the electric light source beneath or within said light-transmissive portions so as to give the visual appearance of winking eyes; a recess being within the cake to receive the module. Another embodiment carries circuitry beneath the cake with illumination being provided atop a probe-like extension inserted upward from beneath said cake. Another embodiment achieves illuminiation by use of phosphorescent devices. Yet another embodiment achieves illumination by filtering light through various light-transmissive materials. | InventorApplicationNo. 06/315959 filed on 10/28/1981US Classes:40/546, Edge illuminated40/555, Flashlight attached428/11, Ball, bell, or star-shaped428/7, SPECIAL OCCASION ORNAMENTD11/184MISCELLANEOUSField of Search40/553, Having multiple function (i.e., illumination per se)40/903, REFLECTIVE TRIANGLE FOR HIGHWAY USE40/564, Lamp box40/565, Pavement embedded40/572, Double face40/573, Compartmented40/574, Detachable or hinged cover40/575, Interchangeable plate40/576, Interchangeable letters or numbers40/577, Multiple spaced screen40/578, Light or weather seal40/581, Colored light40/555, Flashlight attached40/546Edge illuminatedExaminersPrimary: Mancene, GeneAssistant: Weiss, John G.
