The catalyst is constituted by a salt of a metal of groups IB, IIB or VIII of the periodic system, dissolved or dispersed in the reaction medium. It has been found that the hydrogen does not interfere in the reaction, so that a hydrogen-enriched gaseous mixture (synthesis gas) is withdrawn from the reactor. It is therefore particularly advantageous in that it produces dimethylcarbonate and at the same time provides hydrogen-enriched synthesis gas. |
