An armature is mounted on the other end of the shaft in close proximity to a stator in a housing so that when the shaft is rotated by the wind the armature rotates in the stator to generate an electric current. Semi-circular perforated shields are hinged in front of the wind wheel so as to cover the space between the periphery of the housing and the outer edges of the deflector. The shields are held open by a counter weight until the wind attains an excessive velocity. | |
