This connector is used in an electronic equipment chassis or at a bulkhead junction box or, if necessary, between mating connectors in a cable run, where the metallic parts of the cable connector can be grounded. Conductive rubber or co-polymer elastometric washers are used to protect RF filter components in the connector from damage due to external stress.
