AbstractThe method comprises, after the end of the normal combustion of the mixture in the combustion chamber of the engine, establishing a post-combustion by maintaining a series of high-tension sparks during a long period and introducing turbulent additional air in the vicinity of said sparks so as to form a plasma which is propagated in said residual mixture. The plasma is propagated in the cylinder from a plurality of points, that is to say partly from a point near to the spark and partly from at least another point of the combustion chamber. | InventorApplicationNo. 05/865124 filed on 12/28/1977US Classes:123/26, ADDITIONAL AIR SUPPLY123/146.5A, Timers123/169MG, Multiple firing gap123/169V, Valved123/636, Multiple spark ignition system123/640Dual systemsField of Search123/169V, Valved123/26, ADDITIONAL AIR SUPPLY123/146.5ATimersExaminersPrimary: Cox, Ronald B.Attorney, Agent or FirmUS Patent References2011986, 2756268, 2994310, 3204139, 3483849, 4061113Process for reducing the pollution due to an internal combustion engine, and an engine including the application of said processIssued on: 12/06/1977 Inventor: Beyler International ClassesF02B 53/00 (20060101)F02B 53/12 (20060101) F02P 9/00 (20060101) F02P 15/00 (20060101) F02P 15/08 (20060101) F01N 3/30 (20060101) F02B 1/04 (20060101) F02B 1/00 (20060101) Foreign Application Priority Data1976-12-29 FR |
