The particles may be imbedded up to about 35% of their average diameter. The second coating is applied by a kiss coating technique utilizing a roller or the like. The electrode is thus provided with strongly adherent, discrete spaced particles which act as a separator to space the electrode from another electrode or the like. The method is simple, inexpensive, rapid and efficient.
