Abstract

Metal ions, for example, heavy metal ions, alkaline earth metal ions and aluminium ions are eliminated by bringing a liquid containing the metal ions into contact with a special chelate resin in which chelating carboxylic anion groups are associated with basic amino acid cations, for example, lysine, ornithine, histidine, arginine, ଱,ଲ-diaminopropionic acid, ଱,γ-diaminobutyric acid, L-citrulline and δ-oxylysine.
