Abstract

An apparatus for selectively blocking movement of a part of a device employing the apparatus which is particularly useful in preventing the unauthorized firing of a weapon or operation of other touch-actuable devices. The apparatus typically comprises a magnetically actuable member slidably mounted in a housing and magnetic biasing means juxtaposed the magnetically actuable member for maintaining the member in blocking relationship with the part. A magnetic means is provided from without the device for overcoming the attraction or repulsion of the matnetic biasing means, whereby the part is free to move.
