AbstractMethod and compositions are provided for elevated temperature disinfection of soft contact lenses. The lenses are heated at a temperature and for a time sufficient to provide disinfection in an aqueous stabilized saline solution having a small amount of a non-eye-irritating neutral surfactant. Particularly effective are N-hydroxyalkylated fatty acid amides.
