    Abstract

The invention is directed to fluorinated compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein Rf is a perfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkoxy-perfluoroalkyl group, R1 is a branched or straight chain alkylene, alkylenethioalkylene, alkyleneoxyalkylene or alkyleneiminoalkylene group, X is oxygen or an amino group, Q is an organic group containing at least one amino group and y is zero or 1, and the corresponding succinimides. These compounds are useful as surfactants.
