Control system for a flying vehicle In one embodiment of the present invention there is described a vehicle having a propeller mechanism for propelling the vehicle in a horizontal direction. The vehicle includes a transmitter positioned on the bottom of the vehicle for transmitting a signal from the v... | 09/05/2006
Wind turbine generator with improved operating subassemblies A wind turbine includes a yaw spring return assembly to return the nacelle from a position to which it has been rotated by yawing forces, thus preventing excessive twisting of the power cables and control cables. It also includes negative coning restraine... | 10/08/1985
Wind blade vibration eliminator for helicopters An improvement to a rotating blade is disclosed in a device that will apply variable moment forces to wind blades which are counter to the variable forces normally encountered in typical wind blades. The device consists of a gyro attached to the rotating ... | 05/21/1985
Wind turbine A wind turbine of the type having an airfoil blade (15) mounted on a flexible beam (20) and a pitch governor (55) which selectively, torsionally twists the flexible beam in response to wind turbine speed thereby setting blade pitch, is provided with a lim... | 10/05/1982
Anti-moment gyro for windmill An improvement to rotating blades is disclosed in a device that will impose anti-moment forces and result in less stress in the said rotating member. The device consists of a rotating body or gyro which is attached to the said rotating blades, and due to ... | 11/24/1981
Pitch control system for helicopter rotor blades A system is disclosed for controlling the pitch angle of helicopter rotor blades to compensate for differences in lift generated by advancing and retreating blades during translational flight or due to gust loading of individual blades. Each rotor blade i... | 04/01/1980
Stabilizing and control device for two-bladed helicopter rotors A stabilizer bar has an aerodynamically shaped member, such as a winglet, on opposite ends thereof, and the bar is connected to rotate on its longitudinal axis and is mounted to tilt about a pivot axis at right angles thereto connecting it to a rotor shaf... | 10/03/1978
Advanced control system for a rotor and/or a compound or rotary wing vehicle The control system includes a sensing mechanism by which a true pure signal from flapping bending activity resulting from an external load force on a rotor blade in a rotor system is generated and fed back to a gyroscope which then precesses to return a c... | 05/24/1977
Circulation controlled rotary wing aircraft and control system therefor A control system for rotary wing aircraft having a circulation controlled tor is provided. Two axial flow air compressors driven from the engine input shaft provide an air flow which is ducted to the rotor blades through a bifurcated duct and a non-rotati... | 11/09/1976
