...that the x-ray was discovered purely by accident? When German physicist Wilhelm Konrad von Roentgen was experimenting with cathode rays in 1895, he put an activated Crookes tube in a book and went out to lunch. When he returned, he discovered that a key that had also been placed in the book showed up as an image on the developed film!

5007394Combustion chamber for compression ignition internal combustion engine
A combustion chamber, designed for compression ignition internal combustion engines, solves the problem of distribution and whirling of fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the engine and from this the resulting easier ignition of fuel mixture, optim...
04/16/1991
4484550Internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber having four valves
Internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber produced within a cylinder head or similar device, it being possible to feed a fuel-and-air mixture into said combustion chamber through two inlet valves arranged in the cylinder head and to ...
11/27/1984
4333426Internal combustion engine construction
An engine constructed with a hemispherically shaped combustion chamber having inlet and exhaust valves flush mounted in the surface of the chamber with centerlines perpendicular to the chamber surface and intersecting the cylinder bore centerline at a com...
