Safety and arming unit for a spinning projectile fuze A safety and arming unit (10) for a spinning projectile fuze, which has a fuze body (12) and a bearing body (14), which define a spherical cavity (16) between them, in which a spherical rotor (18) is mounted such that it can rotate... | 04/15/2008
Safety system for a projectile fuse The invention provides a safety system for a small arms projectile in which an initiating device is impacted by a firing member in order to detonate a main explosive charge. The system requires the firing member to be retained in a safe position in relati... | 08/12/2003
Firing pin assembly for a warhead detonator A firing pin assembly for mechanically igniting a warhead detonator of a projectile by being accelerated in a forward direction by inertia upon impact, includes a firing pin having a rearward firing pin part and a frontal firing pin part arranged in serie... | 08/28/2001
Self-destructing impact fuse A self destructing impact fuse including a cylindrical firing pin having a hollow centrifugal chamber for holding a number of spheres and a number of radial openings on its surface for exposing portions of the spheres when the chamber is spun. At one end ... | 05/29/2001
Safety fuse for a spinning-type projectile A spherical safety rotor of a fuse of a spinning projectile comprises a recess to lock the rotor into its safety position. A retaining chamber for a detonator includes opposing orifices on the spherical surface. Cut-outs are provided in the rotor peripher... | 01/17/1989
Artillery fuze for practice and tactical munitions A fuze includes a conically shaped body having a central longitudinal chal communicating with a rearward central chamber, a firing pin assembly containing a primary and a biased secondary firing pin disposed in the channel, a delay arming assembly dispos... | 07/03/1984
Ignition fuse for spin-stabilized projectiles In a spin-stabilized projectile, an improved ignition fuse arrangement for a pyrotechnic ignition charge. The ignition charge is mounted in a rotor which is movable from a safety position to an armed (active) position. This rotor is held by actuating mean... | 09/27/1983
Delayed arming fuze for a spinning projectile The provision of a delayed arming fuze utilizing a ball rotor, and a firing pin which is captured to the ball rotor by an unwinding ribbon, and which pin precludes the rotor from swinging into alignment for arming until the ribbon has unwound under the se... | 01/06/1981
Ball rotor safety and arming delay device The ball rotor safety and arming device of this invention includes means for rendering the friction forces which effect the alignment time of the ball rotor more reproducible and controllable reducing the dispersion of arming distances of the device and i... | 07/22/1980
Projectile fuze containing a floating body The projectile fuze of this invention comprises a housing having a cavity which is substantially filled with a liquid. A body having an average specific gravity less than that of the fluid is accommodated in the cavity and is movable forwardly by buoyant ... | 04/19/1977
Mechanism for firing a projectile such as a rifle grenade A device for firing a rifle grenade wherein a detonator is brought into an operative working position automatically a predetermined time after the start of the grenade through the action of a gravity force directed along the center line axis of the grenad... | 02/08/1977
Projectile A point detonating, high explosive incendiary projectile having a safe self estruct fuze that is operative only after setback and spin forces have been imparted to the launched projectile. The fuze includes a rotor housing that is slidable in and spring bi... | 04/13/1976
