Energy efficient method for exothermic reactions An energy efficient process scheme for a highly exothermic reaction-distillation system in which the reactor is external to the distillation column and the feed to the reactor is a mixture of at least one liquid product stream from the distillation column with or wi... | 01/22/2008
Apparatus and method for processing a feed An apparatus and method are provided in which a vaporizer vaporizes a liquid feed for introduction to a feed conversion unit such as a steam active reformer. A condenser condenses vaporized feed from the vaporizer when introduction of feed to the feed con... | 08/29/2000
Dehydrogenation process for production of styrene from ethylbenzene comprising low temperature heat recovery and modification of the ethylbenzene-steam feed therewith An improved process for the production of styrene through dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presence of steam at elevated temperatures, comprising (1) recovering heat of condensation normally lost during separation of the various components of the de... | 12/09/1986
Combustion air preheating Combustion air for steam cracking furnaces is preheated by indirect heat exchange with medium pressure and low pressure steam that has been expanded through steam turbines from high pressure steam produced in the hot section of an ethylene production plan... | 10/14/1986
Hydrocarbon conversion Process and apparatus for a hydrocarbon conversion process, for example thermal cracking, in which feedstock is converted in a heated furnace, the furnace being heated by burning a mixture of fuel and preheated air. The preheated air is obtained by passin... | 09/01/1981
Isoparaffin-olefin alkylation utilizing vaporization of normal paraffin to control the reaction temperature Uniform reactor temperature and temperature control of an HF acid-catalyzed reactant mixture of isobutane and an olefinic feed stream is achieved through indirect vaporization of a liquefied hydrocarbon by the reaction mixture. The exothermic heat of reac... | 02/13/1979
Conversion of liquid alcohols and ethers with a fluid mass of ZSM-5 type catalyst The conversion of alcohols and ethers to gasoline boiling constituents with HZSM-5 catalyst in a fluid catalyst system is arranged for reactant plug flow wherein the reaction temperature is controlled by the heat of vaporization of liquid reactant charged... | 02/06/1979
Plural stage distillation with intermediate indirect heat exchange, of feed streams comprising ethylene and methane Substantially pure methane and ethylene are supplied economically from a transportable liquefied methane-ethylene-ethane mixture by a two-stage distillation at superatmospheric pressure wherein the refrigeration for the first stage reflux may be supplied ... | 05/11/1976
