Method and control system to limit shifting movement of a winning tool for a tunneling machine The winning tool carried for universal movement by the frame of a tunneling machine is controlled by a system and method to limit tool movement in a manner to form a tunnel with a desired cross section. Positioning of the winning tool is determined in rel... | 05/31/1977
Automatic vehicle guidance systems In a frequency selective steering system for automatic vehicle guidance, a phase locked loop is used to derive from a sum signal containing wanted and unwanted signal frequencies a reference signal equal in phase and frequency to the wanted signal. The re... | 03/01/1977
Electromagnetic guidance system An electromagnetic guidance system used, for example, for guiding a driverless mobile vehicle. For example, a two-core wire or cable is in the surface of a travelling course. The core conductors of the two-core wire are connected at its end so that curren... | 02/08/1977
Code circuitry for a vehicle guidance mechanism Code circuitry for controlling the operation of a vehicle that is guided along a guide line by means of a vehicle guidance mechanism comprises a plurality of code markers positioned in a code marker path alongside the guide line, a sensor circuit that sen... | 01/18/1977
Guidance system for guiding trackless vehicles along a path defined by an A-C energized conductor A pair of main coils are arranged with their axes horizontally located, for example between the wheels, and symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry of the vehicle; a pair of auxiliary coils are located adjacent the horizont... | 11/23/1976
Boat guidance system A guidance system for controlling the path of a boat comprising a first conductor disposed below the surface of water in a first elongated loop and connecting at the terminals thereof across an A.C. source of electrical signal and a second conductor drive... | 03/30/1976
Track system for steered, untrack vehicles To prevent sudden and violent control swings in the guidance system of vehicles which are guided in a guide path by sensing an electrical or magnetic field derived from a guide track conductor, which sensed field is evaluated in a servo steering system to... | 03/02/1976
