...that when IBM conducted a market study of Chester Carlson's invention in 1959, the company concluded that it would take only 5000 units of his new product to saturate the market? IBM therefore declined to be part of the new product introduction. Too bad for IBM. Carlson's invention was the xerography process, and his new product was the beginning of the Xerox Corporation. It is estimated that every day, worldwide, 3,000,000,000 copies are made!!

Segmented read line circuit particularly useful for multi-port storage arrays A read line for a column of memory cells within an array is divided into a first read line segment, a first read buffer, and a second read line segment. Both the first and second read line segments occupy a single wiring channel. When reading a memory cel... | 07/08/1997
Interlaced layout configuration for differential pairs of interconnect lines An SRAM array configuration includes even bitline pairs which each laterally interchange at a crossover placed at the 1/2 point along the length of the bitline pairs, and which SRAM array includes odd bitline pairs which each laterally interchange at each... | 12/03/1996
Method for achieving a high quality thin oxide using a sacrificial oxide anneal The quality of both a gate oxide and a tunnel oxide in a P-well of a CMOS EEPROM process is improved by growing and subsequently annealing in-situ a gate oxide. A photoresist layer is then applied and defined to expose regions of the gate oxide which are ... | 07/23/1996
CMOS programmable resistor-based transconductor A CMOS programmable resistor-based transconductor receives a differential input voltage and generates a differential output current. The transconductor includes a degenerate pair of transistors linearized by servo feedback, and further includes a string o... | 04/23/1996
Method for fabricating thin oxides for a semiconductor technology In one embodiment a high-quality tunnel oxide suitable for programmable devices, such as EEPAL devices, is formed upon a surface region of a semiconductor body over a heavily-doped N+layer, and a gate oxide is formed over a gate region, by first oxidizing... | 03/12/1996
Net apparatus A net apparatus for catching aquatic animals includes in a preferred embodiment a substantially transparent monofilament netting attached to a substantially transparent, hollow, tubular rim, which is attached to a substantially transparent, hollow, tubula... | 08/22/1995
