Method for synthesis of carbon nanotubes Carbon nanotubes are formed by chemical vapor deposition using metal nanoparticles as a growth substrate. Control over the size and properties of the carbon nanotubes is achieved by controlling the size of the metal nanoparticles in the growth substrate. The metal n... | 05/08/2007
Method for selective enrichment of carbon nanotubes A method for treating carbon nanotubes with microwave energy to selective remove metallic-type carbon nanotubes is provided. A sample containing carbon nanotubes is positioned in a microwave cavity at a location corresponding to a maximum in the electric field compo... | 12/19/2006
Dry powder injector Methods, processes, and apparatuses for the large scale synthesis of carbon nanostructures are provided. Metal catalysts having small diameter and narrow distribution of particle sizes are prepared and continuously injected as aerosols into a reactor. The metal cata... | 11/14/2006
Method for synthesis of metal nanoparticles Metal nanoparticles are formed by heating or refluxing a mixture of a metal salt, such as a metal acetate, and a passivating solvent, such as a glycol ether, at a temperature above the melting point of the metal salt for an effective amount of time. ... | 12/13/2005
Method for synthesis of metal nanoparticles Metal nanoparticles containing two or more metals are formed by heating or refluxing a mixture of two or more metal salts, such as a metal acetates, and a passivating solvent, such as a glycol ether, at a temperature above the melting point of the metal salts for an... | 12/13/2005
