...that while attempting to develop a super strong glue, 3M employee Spencer Silver accidentally developed a glue that was so weak it would barely hold two pieces of paper together? However, his colleague Art Fry needed the glue. Fry sang with his church choir and marked the pages of his hymnal with small scraps of paper that often fell out. He used Silver's glue to hold the papers in place. Today we call this invention Post-it Notes.

| 8110812 | Method and system for detecting nitrogenous materials via gamma-resonance absorption (GRA) A method for detecting nitrogenous materials within an object by means of Gamma-Resonance Absorption (GRA), including placing on one side of an object a target containing 13C for bombardment with a proton beam of approximately 1.75 MeV energy, to produce a source of... | 02/07/2012 |
| 7925052 | Passive method for wind measurement A method for measuring wind velocity including using a Fourier Transform (FT) and a correlation between a wave vector number and temporal frequency of a wind to calculate wind velocity. Contour line deviations in a series of images of a far object are evaluated by p... | 04/12/2011 |
| 7739823 | Fire control system using a LIDAR (laser identification, detection and ranging) unit A fire control system that includes an array of photodiode elements. For each element of the photodiode array, there is a specific optical path in the atmosphere leading from the laser to a target and back from the target to the element. Accordingly, each element of... | 06/22/2010 |
