...that Charles Goodyear performed some of his experiments on rubber while in debtor's prison? He was there so often he referred to it as his "hotel". Chronically in debt because of poor business sense and ill health, Goodyear depended on the generosity of friends and family. Even after he unlocked the secret to vulcanizing rubber, he was unable to improve his financial situation. When he died, his estate was $200,000 in debt.

7323337Gene transfer into primate embryonic stem cells using VSV-G pseudotyped simian immunodeficiency virus vectors
Highly efficient gene transfer into primate-derived embryonic stem (ES) cells has successfully been achieved by using a simian immunodeficiency virus vector (SIV) pseudotyped with VSV-G protein, which is a surface glycoprotein of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) The...

6576813Knockout animals
Transgenic mice are constructed by binding the "hHB-EGF/DTR" gene to the downstream of an albumin enhancer/promoter that is expressed specifically in hepatic parenchymal cells and introducing this unit into mice. After the "hHB-EGF/DTR" gene has been conf...
