Abstract text

Sensor devices and compositions can be used for detecting the presence of a target substance in a medium. The sensor devices and compositions can be configured to include at least one nanosensor through a high concentration of nanosensors that interact with the target substance to provide a detectable signal as an indication of such an interaction. The interaction is evidence that the medium includes the target substance. Various types of target substances can be detected with the sensor device, including inorganic molecules, organic molecules, atoms, ions, polypeptides, polynucleotides, cells, derivatives thereof, and combinations thereof.
