Abstract text

Systems, articles of manufacture, and methods for managing blood processing operations and data for one or more blood component collection facilities are provided. An example system for networking the blood component collection facility includes a system computer including a memory and a communication interface. The system computer is linked to a plurality of input devices for tracking donors, operators, soft goods, and blood component collection instruments with respect to one or more blood product collection procedures. The system computer is also linked to at least one administrative level computing device to monitor blood component collection activities throughout the blood component collection facility and to facilitate decision making with respect to allocation of at least one of donors, operators, soft goods, and blood component collection instruments based on information regarding at least one of donors, operators, soft goods, and blood component collection instruments.
